Hi there, @kylel821.

I appreciate your efforts in trying to resolve your issue.

Can you share the specific error message you're getting when restoring your company file and the steps you took to fix it? Your company file name may include special characters ( / < > ! $). Make sure to remove them by following these steps:

  1. Search for the location of your company file. See search for files using Windows if you need additional help locating your file.
  2. Right-click the file name and select Rename.
  3. Create a file name that has no special character and Enter.

Next, confirm that the backup file is stored locally on the computer's hard disk rather than on a network drive or an external storage device. Before restoring your backup, we advise moving it to your desktop to ensure the file's security. Then, avoid overwriting an existing file when restoring it.

  1. When you are on the window that asks where you want to save your file, browse to your standard location for saving your file.
  2. If the name is the same as another file in this folder, you will see a message: "The file name exists. Would you like to overwrite this file?"
  3. Select No.
  4. Change the name of the file to be different from the existing file.
