I'm glad you came to the Community with your concern. Iren7.

Let's look into this to make sure you're able to restore backup successfully.

Here are some of the steps that you can perform to fix this error. The first option is to remove special characters from your company file name.

To do it:

  1. Search for the location of your company file.
  2. Right-click the file name and select Rename.
  3. Create a file name that has no special character and Enter.

If it didn't work, let's make sure you're not overwriting an existing file when restoring your backup.

Here's how:

  1. When you are on the window that asks where you want to save your file, browse to your standard location for saving your file.
  2. If the name is the same as another file in this folder, you will see a message: "The file name exists. Would you like to overwrite this file?"
  3. Select No.
  4. Change the name of the file to be different from the existing file.

For additional troubleshooting options, you can visit this article and proceed to Solution3: Get help with Error: Failed or Error: Restore Failed. Though this is an article for the QuickBooks Desktop US version, the steps can still be applied to the Singapore version.
