It's awesome to see that you're using the Mileage feature in QuickBooks Online. This is useful for manually or automatically tracking the kilometers you put in for your business, and I'd be happy to help you with these entries.
A short while ago, the Mileage feature underwent some changes, including how to designate a trip as business or personal. It's still possible to do so, but now this step is taken after the trip's initial details have been entered as saved. To manually add your personal mileage, here's how it's done.
- Select Mileage in the left menu.
- Choose Add trip.
- Fill out the trip details.
- Click Save.
- From the list of trips on the Mileage page, check off the trip in question.
- Click Mark as personal.
That's it. I know this is a few extra steps, but it should still be pretty easy. Even if you're recording your mileage automatically, this is how you can designate whether it's a business or personal trip.
