Hello there. I'm here to address your concerns about the missing expense categories and the error you're getting when uploading your photos in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Since there's an ongoing investigation (INV-105679) about the missing expense categories on the app, I suggest reaching out to our Customer Care Support Team so they can immediately add you in the list of the affected users. As a workaround, log in to your QBO account via a website browser or an iPad.

To ensure if you've received the email from the support, check your spam or junk folders.

Moreover, to determine what's preventing you to upload the photos, let's troubleshoot your web browser.

 Here's how:

  1.  Access your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account using a private or incognito browser.
  2.  Restart your web browser.
  3.  Clear cache.
  4.  Add Intuit as a trusted site.

You can choose from the browsers below:

  • Google Chrome: press Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: press Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Microsoft Edge: press Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Safari: press Command + Shift + N

Once you're able to access the expense category on the app, you can follow these steps to run an expense report in QBO:

  1. Navigate to the Reports menu.
  2. Type Transaction and select Transaction Detail by Account report in the search box.
  3. Click Customize.
  4. Set the Report period.
  5. In the Filter section, select the All Expenses Accounts in the Distribution Account field.
  6. Run report.
