I have just encountered a problem here myself. My manager has added me as a payroll user but when I finalised the payrun for this week it said my chart of accounts needed to be configured and didn't post the journal. We had a look at the payroll settings under her user account as mine didnt have the payroll setting and it did have ! showing next to some accounts for chart of accounts but we already had the correct posting accounts next to each category so we're not sure why it didn't post the journal. In the mean time I have had to manually add the payroll journal for this pay run. Not sure how to rectify this going forward.
