There are two things you can consider that will help you fix your bank and sales receipt issue.
If you want to correct a payment or sales receipt that has been deposited. you can remove the payment or sales receipt from the deposit. Here's how:
- Click the Gear icon.
- Select Chart of Accounts.
- Find the deposit account and in the action column, click Account History.
- Find the deposit that has the wrong payment or sales receipt.
- Note the deposit amount if it has a letter "R" in the Reconcile box.
- Select the deposit, then Edit. This will give you the list of payments and sales receipts connected to the deposit.
- Remove the check mark from the incorrect payment or sales receipt. This will remove the transactions from the deposit.
- Click Save and close, then Yes to confirm your changes.
Once done, edit the payment or sales receipt.
- Click the Gear icon.
- Select Chart of Accounts.
- Find the deposit account and in the action column, click Account History.
- Select the deposit, then Edit.
- Find the sales receipt or payment you unchecked.
- In the Received From column, select the customer where the payment was received.
- Make the correction.
- Click Save and close, then Yes to confirm your changes.
Then, replace the payment or sales receipt in the deposit.
- Click the Gear icon.
- Select Chart of Accounts.
- Find the deposit account and in the action column, click Account History.
- Select the deposit, then Edit.
- Select the corrected payment or sales receipts.
- Click Save and close, then Yes to confirm your changes.
- Make sure that the deposit balance is correct.
- Click Save and Close.
You can also delete and recreate the sales receipt transactions by following the steps below.
- Click Sales on the left menu.
- Locate and tick the box beside the Sales Receipt.
- Under the Action column, click the drop-down arrow and select Delete.
- Click Yes.
Once done, you can recreate your sales receipt.
