As I mentioned before, earlier QBO used to calculate rate field when amount and qty is specified by integrated application.
The rate field was never sent by integrated application. Based on amount and quantity field sent by integrated application, Quickbooks online used to calculate rate if 'Track quantity and price/rate' setting is ON and display in rate field. 
Is this logic changed recently from Quickbooks online side? Please confirm
