Since this is an unusual behavior within QuickBooks, let's begin with some simple browser fixes, @LynnIP.

 

Sometimes, the stored data and cookies in your browser can slow down or freeze pages in QuickBooks. You can remove them by following the steps in this article: Troubleshooting browser problems.

 

If the issue persists, as a workaround, we can manually choose the template by going to the Design of your Invoice, here's how:

 

  1. On your Invoice, go to Manage.
  2. Select Design.
  3. Then choose your Template.
  4. After that, you can Print or download to check if the customised invoice is successful.
  5. Then, click Save and close.
