Remember when you set up your inventory item, you are asked to enter the Quantity on Hand (QOH) and the As of date. That serves as the start date (or the birth of the item). Therefore, you cannot use the item in transactions dated before that. However, there is a way to change it, and I will guide you through the steps.
- Click on the Gear icon and choose Products and services.
- Click the down arrow beside Edit on the item line.
- Select Run Report.
- Click to open the transaction called Inventory Starting Value. This was automatically created based on your QOH and As of date.
- Change the As of date and click Save and close.
