Buy nowI'm replying to my old post because I need to update my statement and let QB know what happened.
I have since moved to Win10(from win7), I was able to get my 2008 Pro to work.
What happened years ago was that when I went to instal the software it prompted me to call QB. I had written down a code on the cd cover and labeled it "V code". I did this years before, the day I installed it after buying it new. Back then I called the number, then they told me to press Cntrl+R+P , then they gave me a Validation code to enter. They told me to hang onto the code. This is something any user would forget about after 10 years. It's a shame the software doesn't prompt the installer for a Validation Code.
My issue with QB's is when I tried to reinstall it on another computer years and years later, Customer support said nothing about how to enter the V code. They just kept telling me they don't support the software. I told them I had it. I didn't know what to do with it, I needed them to remind me. And they didn't. I spent years stuck using Win7 just to use the QB software.
Anyways, I hope QB Customer service reminds their clients who are trying to install old software how to do it when they get a call, otherwise its seems nefarious.
