Adding to my previous message, we just tried AGAIN to go from a fresh install of QBTD version R15_27 to version R15_82 (looks like R15_82 is latest version, not _81).

We did this by selecting Help > Update QuickBooks Desktop with "Reset" option selected.

After upgrading to version R15_82, to follow the other suggestions on the QB forums, we repaired the software by selecting Control Panel > Uninstall a program > QuickBooks Desktop Pro 2024 > Repair.

HOWEVER, after running the Repair step, QBDT's license info shows it has been downgraded back to version R15_27!!!!

It doesn’t seem like “Repairing” from the Control Panel should downgrade QBDT to the previous version.

Can you please advise.

We have already tried the solutions you suggest:

  1. Quick Fix my Program from the QuickBooks Tool Hub (we are on version 1.6.0.8 of QuickBooks Tool Hub)
  2. QuickBooks Install Diagnostic Tool
  3. rename the QBWUSER.ini file

NONE of these solutions worked.

Our system meets the requirements for QuickBooks Desktop Pro 2024.

QBDT 2024 started acting extremely slow on August 22—our system did not change on August 22 or on the day before. QBDT 2024 was working fine the day before August 22. All other applications on our system are working fine.

On a fresh reinstallation of QBDT (version R15_27), QBDT has good responsiveness UNTIL we try to open a small company file that is less than 15 MB in size. QBDT takes about 5 minutes to open the file.

Given this, we are confident this issue is due to a new bug in QBDT’s software.
