I appreciate your efforts in managing your data. You'll have to ensure the downloaded company file has the .bat file type in your USB flash drive, Joel.

Before moving QuickBooks to another computer, make sure to update the version of your Windows 10, which must have a 64-bit system.

Then, let's consider downloading your company file again using the Migrator Tool from your old computer. To do this:

  1. In QBDT, go to the File menu, click Utilities, and select Move QuickBooks to another computer.
  2. Select I'm Ready and create a one-time password.
  3. Follow the instructions to choose the USB flash drive you’ll use. Then wait for the files to be copied. Also, make sure to save it using a .bat file type.

On the new computer, make sure the Windows version is updated and follow Step 2 outlined in this article to transfer the file again: Move or reinstall QuickBooks Desktop to another computer.

However, if the issue persists, I recommend creating a portable version of your company file as an alternative. With this, it's best to secure a backup copy and ensure your QuickBooks Desktop is on its latest release

Once ready, here's how to create a portable file:

  1. Open QuickBooks and log in as an admin.
  2. Go to File and select Open or Restore Company.
  3. Choose Restore a portable file, then Next.
  4. Select your portable company file with the .qbm file type and click Open.
  5. Read the notes on the Where do you want to restore the file page, then select Next.
  6. When you're ready to open your file, select Save.

Additionally, if your file successfully moved using the migrator tool, you'll need to take a few more steps to move over any additional data from your old to your new computer.

I'll be around on this thread anytime you require additional assistance managing your file.
