QuickBooks Desktop 2022 and earlier versions, including QuickBooks Desktop Pro, Premier, Mac, and Enterprise Solutions v22, has been already discontinued. But you can still access and download these versions until then. Cheryl.

On the other hand live technical support and other integrated Intuit services like QuickBooks Desktop Payroll, Payments, and online bank feeds will no longer be accessible. Additionally, discontinued versions won't receive security patches and updates.

However, we can still download the QuickBooks Desktop 2020 Pro. And I'll walk you through how to move your QBDT to another computer.

For us to transfer your files to another computer, we need to use a migrator tool and you'll need to be the Company Admin.

What you'll need to move your QBDT to another computer:

• Have your new computer connected to the internet.
• A USB flash drive with enough free space to hold your QuickBooks files. The Migrator Tool will tell you how much free space you need. Most people need between 150 and 250 MB.

Here's how the migrator tool works:

• You'll set up a complex password to access everything that is transferred to your new computer. Be sure to write down this password so you don’t forget it. You’ll need this password just once for the migrator tool.
• The tool will copy the last three company files you opened (along with all related files) onto a USB flash drive.
• You'll transfer the files using the USB flash drive, but the Migrator Tool handles all the technical details.
• The tool will also download and install the correct version of QuickBooks Desktop on your new computer, and set it up with your files.
• The tool will not reformat your drive or delete any of your other files.
  
  
   

If your USB contains files from 64-bit QuickBooks Desktop 2020, earlier, or the latest version, the migrator tool might stop working if you use it on a 32-bit Windows system. Files from 64-bit QuickBooks can only be transferred between 64-bit systems.

Here's how to set up and use the migrator tool:

1. On the old computer, open QuickBooks Desktop, go to the File menu, select Utilities, and then select Move QuickBooks to another computer.
2. Select I'm Ready, then create a one-time password.
3. On the new computer, insert a USB flash drive.
4. Open the flash drive to view its files and double-click the file Move_QuickBooks.bat to start the migration.
5. Enter the password you created, then select Let's Go.

Please note that the migrator tool automatically deletes your QuickBooks files from your USB flash drive after use. Your QuickBooks files will remain on your old computer. We strongly recommend renaming the files on the old computer to prevent confusion and using the wrong file.
