While waiting for your response to 4GAl's clarifying question, I've provided several troubleshooting steps below to fix the error code -6144, known as QuickBooks Error 6144 82. This error often occurs due to incorrect file permissions, damaged company files, or network issues. I'll show you how to fix this, RRN.

Step 1: Ensure QuickBooks and Windows are up to date for smooth functioning.

  1. Go to Help and select Update QuickBooks Desktop.
  2. Select Update Now, then Get Updates.
  3. Close and reopen QuickBooks to install the update again.

Step 2: Run QuickBooks File Doctor to resolve company file issues.

  1. Download the most recent version of QuickBooks Tool Hub.
  2. Open the file you downloaded (QuickBooksToolHub.exe).
  3. Visit the File Doctor page and follow the instructions in Step 2: Run Quick Fix My File and Step 3: Run QuickBooks File Doctor section.

Additionally, you can visit about verifying file permissions and ensure QB has full access.

I'll be around if you have concerns about resolving errors in QuickBooks. I'll help you in any way that I can.
