Hello there, Cynthia38.

I'm here to share more information about why the button to transfer the accountant's copy is grayed out.

This happens when either you're importing the changes to the wrong company file or the restriction to the Accountant's copy was removed. it can also be that the file with the changes was upgraded to a new version or edition of QuickBooks Desktop. To resolve the issue, you can save the changes locally to your computer and then import them.

If the same thing persists, I'd suggest running the verify and rebuild steps. Before doing so, you can save a backup copy of your file. Then, here's how to run the verify and rebuild:

  1. Click the File menu.
  2. Under Utilities, select Verify Data.

If the system prompts you with a Your data has lost integrity message, you'll have to rebuild the program. I've added this reference for the detailed steps of the process: Verify and Rebuild Data.

From there, you can transfer the accountant's copy again. You may find this article helpful: Resolve errors and unexpected results when importing the Accountant's changes.

Feel free to get back to this thread if there's anything that I can help with transferring the accountant's copy.
