To avoid losing any unsaved data, I'd suggest waiting for QuickBooks to respond. Then, save the work and back up your company file. After that, let's perform some troubleshooting to prevent it from happening again.

Please follow these steps to perform a mini repair on your software:

1. Close your QuickBooks.
2. Download the QuickBooks Tool Hub file.
3. Open the QuickBookstoolhub.exe file. It gets saved in the download folder.
4. Follow the on-screen steps to install and agree to the terms and conditions.
5. Click Finish.
6. Double-click the icon on your Windows desktop to open the tool hub.

From there, let's run the Quick Fix my Program tool from the Tool Hub.

1. In the QuickBooks Tool Hub, select Program Problems.
   
2. Select Quick Fix my Program.
3. Start QuickBooks Desktop and open your data file.

Otherwise, if it doesn't respond, you can turn off QuickBooks and all respective running applications from the task manager. Then, perform the troubleshooting steps provided above. You may need to re-enter any unsaved data afterward.

Here's how:

1. Open your task manager to turn off QuickBooks and all respective running applications.
2. Right-click on the taskbar and select Start Task Manager.
3. Select all the QuickBooks processes or apps with .Qb extensions one by one and click the End Task button.
