Thanks for getting back to us, @APAUL.

I'm here to help you sort things out and help you with this unexpected behavior.

Let's first run the repair tool. This will help resolve crashing and certificate issues with the software:

  1. Create a back up your company file to avoid any accidental data loss.
  2. Reboot the computer and tap the Windows Start menu.
  3. Look for Control Panel on the search field or select it from the list.
  4. Click Programs and Features then Uninstall a Program.

Note: If you don't see Programs and Features, select Programs instead. Then choose Program and Features.

  5. Pick QuickBooks from the list of Programs, then press Uninstall/Change.
  6. Hit on Continue, or Next. then Repair.
  7. Tick Next again then wait for the tool to start its diagnosis.
  8. Tap Finish when done.

Here's the article that will give you more info about the steps: Repair your QuickBooks Desktop for Windows

Once the repair is done, you have to run QuickBooks as Admin. To do so, right-click the QuickBooks icon in the desktop and select Run as Administrator.

Also, you can check out this article which outlines the solutions and other possible causes of QuickBooks Desktop unexpected behavior: QuickBooks Desktop doesn't start or won't open

If none of the provided troubleshooting steps worked, it'd be best to contact again our Technical Support Team. This way, they can further investigate this matter and identify what's causing the crashing behavior.

Let me know how it goes and don't hesitate to reach us again if you have other QuickBooks-related concerns. I'm always here to help. Have a good one.
