Go to the Edit menu and choose Preferences. Select the General menu. Choose the My Preferences tab. Check the Turn off pop-up messages for products and services box. Click OK.
I just googled it! QuickBooks Support had the answer all along. They are just paid to promote, so why would they explicitly tell you how to shut them out?
