Sorry to say but the answer to the question is absolutely ridiculous.  A single-sentence answer would have sufficed:  there is no facility in QB to enter the state information - period.  Own company information has nothing whatsoever to do with that company's vendors.

 

Almost everyone knows that a company is registered in a particular state first! The state assigns to the registering entity its own legal and tax filing number.  A company can be an S corp for state tax purposes but a C corp for federal tax purposes.  An LLC can be a partnership for state taxes but an S corp for federal taxes - and still legally can operate as an LLC through a member-managed or a manager-managed operating agreement.

QB should have the state information, at least for reference purposes.
