Buy nowI still only run one payroll. The work around I do now is that I changed the {state} after their name to a @. This worked for awhile. Now it says you can't have two employee with the same SS number. I worked around this by changing one number in their SS number. I kept that last four numbers the same so they can still open their paystub when it's mailed to them. I manually combine the two states for the W-2 every year so it doesn't really matter if the SS number is different in QB. As long as it's correct on the W-2.
I hope this helps.
