Ethel - I am having the exact same problem.

We are single employee corporations. We are exempt from contributing to workers comp, unemployment.

WA state will not give us an EDS number, which is required when setting up QB to do payroll taxes. 

Can Quickbooks make the ESD number OPTIONAL for WA state business users? it appears that your product is not compliant with WA state rules.
