Seems like the neatest workaround. I tend to update each description with something like "part n of m" too, otherwise it's not obvious it's a split transaction.

So just to be clear, you can't match a single Expense with multiple bank transactions. In other words, the first reply by ZackE is a (very long and detailed) red herring?
