Hi there, @Harolddds.

Thanks for joining this conversation. Allow me to chime in and share information about importing checks in QuickBooks.

Are you trying to import the checks to QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) too? If so, you can choose the accounts for each wage expense or liability upon setting up your Export preference.

Here's how to do it:

  1. In Intuit Payroll, go to the Gear icon.
  2. Choose Payroll settings.
  3. Select the Pencil icon next to Export.
  4. Choose QuickBooks Desktop for Windows: downloadable IIF (Intuit Interchange Format) file and select Continue.
  5. If selecting QuickBooks Desktop for Windows, you will be asked to type in the name of each account you are exporting your liabilities and expenses to. We recommend that you have a copy of your QuickBooks chart of accounts handy for this.

For further guidance on how to go about the process, you can check out this article: Export into QuickBooks Online or Desktop from Core, Premium, or Elite Standalone Payroll.

Please post again or leave a comment if you need more help with importing payroll or anything else. I'll be here to help.
