Here's an update on the issue:

Today I noticed Intuit have added an error message when importing a .QBO file to CC accounts, instead of just crashing QB (attached image).

At least this is some progress, but it does not fix the issue.

Intuit, when will this issue be fixed? We cannot import data into CC accounts, and this is important for filing taxes, etc. Today begins the official tax filing season.
