The error message shows there's a problem with the CSV file format when importing it into QuickBooks Self-Employed, @pridekitty.
Here are some tips to review and fix your CSV file before importing:
- When checking your file, make sure to clear out any zeros in cells that should be blank and leave them empty.
- Make sure the Description column does not include any numbers or special characters.
- Delete the word "amount" from the Credit or Debit column header if it’s present.
- Make sure the date format is consistent across the file, like dd/mm/yyyy.
- Mac users should save the CSV file in Windows CSV format to prevent compatibility issues.
- In some cases, banks add the day of the week in the Date column (e.g., 20/11/2018 TUE). To fix this, use Excel's “Text to Columns” tool with space as the delimiter to split the date and day into separate columns, then remove the day of the week.
If everything is correct, and still getting the same error. I recommend refreshing the page, log out of your account, and log back in. Upload again your CSV file.
