I discovered part of my issue, I didn't realize that bringing up the recurring transactions list and seeing Reminder List on the drop down meant that I would still have to click on that drop down in order to actually see my recurring transactions. Now, I can create or skip. Still don't understand why the list isn't updating on its own, but I'll deal with this for now. Thanks for your help everyone!
