Buy nowI have been using QBDT for years and this has been a problem for a very long time.
I have a work around, provided you have a version taht's 2021 or higher...
Now remember this setting, you will need to use it a few times: Go to Edit>Preferences>Checking>Company Preferences: On the bottom you will see "bank feeds". This is where you will switch from Advanced Mode(it may have a different name in some versions of QBDT) to Express Mode or vice versa. Disregard Classic Mode.
First you need to use the advanced mode (it resembles the QBO bankfeed window a bit) and review and accept any matches and partial matches and accept any where rules have been applied (if you created rules in Express mode, they will not transfer to Advanced mode, you have to create them manually from scratch. there's no automatic rule creation). This window matches transactions much better and if none match in the possible matches it provides, you have the option to 'add more details' and just accept it without matching. the express mode doesn't have this option and if you click not a match, i promise you will be there for the rest of your life clicking not a match because that never works. I have no patience and I have no time to waste.
once you're finished matching transactions in advanced mode, switch your bank feed preference to express mode to add all the transactions that don't auto match. Don't accept any auto matches at all. Once you're done adding all transactions and the only ones you have left are auto matches, return to the Advanced Mode. You will find that the advanced mode can't find any matches and doesn't recognize any of the transactions.
now you can add them manually or create rules manually to push them to the check register and you don't have to wrestle with the stupid auto match.
The downside of Advanced mode is that it doesn't auto-create rules. You have to manually create each and every one. The plus side is that the matches it provides are very accurate and gives you the option to simply accept the transaction without matching.
I hope this saves anyone looking for a solution lots of time and money.
