Welcome to the QuickBooks Community forum, windyl0u. I'll be here to share some information about using QuickBooks Checking in your QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).

QuickBooks Checking isn't available in QBDT. In this case, ensure you have transferred your funds from your Checking account to your external bank account. This way, you can utilize your existing payment account to QBDT. Before canceling your QuickBooks Online (QBO) subscription, unlink your QuickBooks Payments from the specified account.

Once done, you'll need to connect your current payments account to your company file to continue processing customer remittances.

Here's how:

  1. In QuickBooks Desktop, go to the Customers menu.
  2. Choose Link Payment Service to Company File. If you see a message about credit card protection, fill out the fields and hit Enable Protection.

  3. Enter the user ID and password you used to sign up for QuickBooks Payments. Then click Sign In.
  4. Select Connect. Or if you're transferring your payments account to another company file, hit Transfer and then Yes, transfer.

Afterward, you'll see an icon on the homepage. This tells you you're signed in and connected to QuickBooks Payments.

Let me know in the comments if you have more questions about accessing your QB Checking, moving from QBO to QBDT, or any QuickBooks-related inquiries. I'll be sure to offer a helping hand. Take care!
