Hi there, @jacob007. I understand you want the memo line to populate when bank rules are created and applied.

Before anything else, if you're using the Express mode, you can edit the Bank Memo field by going to Add more details. If you're using the Advanced mode, you can directly edit it.

Please see the attached screenshot for a visual reference.

You can visit this article for more detailed information: Switch between banking modes

Once you've created a bank rule for categorizing your transactions, the bank memo description will disappear when applied. I understand how important it is to populate the description automatically, so I recommend sending feedback to our product development team. Your ideas will be reviewed and may be implemented for future updates.

To send your feedback:

  1. Hover to the Help menu, and click the Send Feedback Online option.
  2. Choose the Product Suggestion, and a pop-up window will appear.
  3. Type your feedback suggestion in the space provided, then click the Send Feedback button.

In the meantime, you can manually enter the memo description after the created rule has been applied to the transaction.

Furthermore, I'm adding these informative articles to help manage your transactions in QuickBooks Desktop:

You can return to me again if you need further information about the bank feed memo and bank rules. Kindly tap the reply button to enter your response. Please know that I'm always here to help in any way.
