I too just encountered this and was shocked to see QBO staff ask us to export to Excel and reenter the name on the spreadsheet.  I already entered the name when I created the JE.  The only way to see what name is associated with that JE is to reopen the JE and view it.  Way too time consuming and very poor design for an app that costs over $200/mo.
