However, to do that, you need to enable the feature first so that you can make use of it. To do that, here's how:

1. Look for the QuickBooks Messenger icon in your system tray.
2. At the bottom right of your screen, double-click the icon to launch the tool.
   

Once enabled and logged in as an Admin, you can proceed to close the company file for another user. Here’s how:

1. To launch QuickBooks Messenger, select the  Company menu, then Chat with a Coworker.
2. In the Actions drop-down, select Close Company File for Users.
3. Choose the user/s whose QuickBooks you want to close.
4. Then, click Close Company File.
5. Confirm your action by selecting Yes.
