I want to make sure you're able to view this comparison report in your QuickBooks Online account.
Upon completing the steps mentioned above I was able to create a 5-year comparison Profit and Loss Report. The only difference I noticed was my option appeared as "Years", not "Calendar Years" but yielded the same result. I recommend double checking the custom date fields before running the report. Here's how it looked in my US QBO test account:
If you're still unable to select Years as a display option you may need to clear the browser cache. Doing so will remove anything that could be preventing the page from loading properly.
