Hi, Bobbie. To help you continue with your task, allow me to explain or provide clarification about working with your company file in QuickBooks.

Yes. In QuickBooks Desktop (QB Desktop), accountants can typically open and operate multiple years of the Desktop software without requiring all company files to be upgraded. However, it's essential to note that compatibility between different versions may have some limitations, and certain features or improvements in the newer version may not be available when opening older company files.

Also, you can still work on the Accountant's Copy as long as the gap between the versions is no more than one year. On the other hand, since you're exchanging a cloud storage file with your client, you can let them know if you intend to upgrade to the 2024 edition. Then, inform them that they can continue to use their existing version without being forced to upgrade immediately. You can visit our website to download the latest QuickBooks Accountant 2024.

Additionally, I'll be sharing these links that to learn the latest features available in the program and how to resolve unexpected errors with your Accountant's Copy:

Feel free to comment if you have any more questions about your company's and accountant's files. I would be happy to help you.
