posting some screenshots that I hope will assist others.  I've also written to the QBO Commerce folks as I think the whole setup is unnecessarily confusing.  

1) This was my original setup for Shopify Balance import (shows as "Cash" tile)- a connector that appeared on the bank transactions page.  Shopify Balance transactions would appear on this tab.  This connector stopped working with the 571 and 350 errors people have reported.  This setup stopped working for me Oct 1 2023.

This is the new setup using the QBO Commerce app.  It does more than Shopify Balance - you see orders, payouts and a summary.  The payout transactions show up in the App transactions tab instead of the bank

transactions tab.  The old Cash / Shopify Balance connector on the bank transactions page is now gone.

from the Commerce menu you can now also access order info and a financial summary, which is quite nice.  Other sales channels supported by Commerce would show up too.
