QuickBooks Online (QBO) made a bunch of changes to the interface to give you a better experience and modified a lot of things to make it more user-friendly. The "NEW" advanced search is only available when accessing your QBO account on the web. Also, the Advanced Search feature no longer includes the ability to search by description. However, there's an option for you to revert to the old interface. Here's how:
Once you're in the Classic Advanced Search, let me show you how to search for transactions using the description. Below the All Transaction Lines section, you'll find an option to select Line Description. In the third rectangular box, you can enter the description you want to search for. This will allow you to find the transactions based on their descriptions.
If the option still doesn't appear, let's open your QuickBooks account in a different browser or private window to rule out any browser-related issues. Here are the keyboard shortcuts:
If this works, return to your regular browser and clear your cache. Occasionally, the accumulated cache and cookies in the system can become outdated or corrupted, leading to unexpected behaviors. Additionally, you can switch to other supported browsers that are already installed, which is also a good alternative.
Moreover, in QuickBooks Online, you can run various reports and personalize them to gain insight into your business transactions.
