I installed QB's 2014 on my former employer's computer.  All he uses is the check register and prints a financial report at the end of the year "by class" as he has a couple of rental properties.  I upgraded him from QB's 2008. He is 80 years old. He has maybe 25 transactions per month.  He doesn't need anything else.  I loaded the program and it was working fine for him, but then he got an update notice.  He didn't update.  Then he got a notice that he could open the program 2 more times and then he would have to update.  Again he didn't update but finally it wouldn't open unless he did the update and following the update then his program would not open.  I called support and was told that the program was no longer supported and it had been disabled and they would not help me.  So don't even try to convince me that you don't do that!!! I know you do. I agree with everyone else.  It should be illegal for you to make it so we can't even open our own file.
