Hello there, @tom.

Let's reboot your new MacBook Pro 2021 laptop so you can get into QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) for Mac and continue managing the growth of your business.

When you've installed new software like QBDT for Mac in your MacBook Pro, you'll have to restart to resets your operating system and apps and cleans out the active memory that programs run in. To do this, here's how:

  1. Go to the Apple menu in the top left corner of the screen.
  2. Select Restart.
  3. If you want all of your apps and documents to reopen after the restart, check the box next to the Reopen windows when logging back in option.
  4. Click Restart or let the timer count down to complete the restart.

Once you're done, open QBDT for Mac so you can get back to business.

Moreover, I would encourage you to back up your QuickBooks company file every now and then. This way, you’ll be able to restore your company file and get back to work if you ever run into a problem with your data.

Once everything is all set and you've decided upgrade QBDT for Mac to its newest version, you may want to check out this article as your refence to guide in completing the process: Update QuickBooks for Mac to the latest release.

Please keep me posted on how it goes in the comments below. If you have other concerns about using the QBDT for Mac program and managing your transactions, I'm always ready to help. Take care, and I wish you continued success, @tom.
