While we're unable to provide a phone number, you can follow these steps on how to get the validation code.
- Try opening QuickBooks on the old computer, then press F2.
- Once you get the Product Registration window, press the F3 key.
- This will open the Tech Help window.
- Navigate to the Open File tab and click QBRegistration.dat file from the list of all the files.
- If the file does not open automatically then select Notepad from the list of programs and click OK.
- Press Ctrl + F and type LicenseNumber in the search box.
- Press Find and the text will be highlighted in the file.
You can see the product license registration number next to the highlighted text. Take a note of the license number/validation code and close the file.
If you're unable to open the file, you can get in touch with our Live Support Team outside of QuickBooks. To do so, please follow these steps:
- Go to this link: Contact us.
- Choose QuickBooks Desktop from the drop-down list, then click Continue.
- Choose the edition of your company file, then enter a brief discussion of your concerns.
- Click Continue.
- Select Chat with us or Have us call you.
Once you get in touch with them, they'll help provide the validation code for you.
After you install it, QuickBooks will ask you to activate and update it.
