I can see the importance of filing your Federal Tax payment on time, @Alvie12.

Please know this isn’t what I want you to experience with us. Allow me to help and make it up with you. I’ve got some troubleshooting steps we can perform to get around this issue.

When using E-Pay in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT), you’ll need to update your password to match your EFTPS password each time you make an e-payment.

Before we change your EFTPS password, let’s update your QuickBooks to the latest release and download the latest tax table update. Keeping your software updated prevents unexpected issues within the program.

Once done, here’s how to update your EFTPS password:

  1. Go to the Payroll Center, and select the Pay Liabilities tab.
  2. In the Pay Taxes & Other Liabilities section, select the federal liability to e-pay, and select View/Pay.
  3. Verify that E-payment is selected, and select E-pay.
  4. Clear the Remember My Information for next Time checkbox.
  5. Enter your 4-Digit PIN and new EFTPS Internet password.
  6. Fill in any other missing information, and select Submit when done.

You can also check this article for more details: Update your EFTPS Internet password.

When everything is all set, you might want to check this link for guidance on how to check the status of your E-Pay: Check e-file or e-pay status.

If the issue persists, I recommend reaching out to our Support team. I understand you already contacted them, however, they have the tools to securely check your account. They can also create an investigation ticket to look further into why you're unable to update your EFTPS Internet password.

Let me know if there’s anything else I can help you in filing your taxes or in managing your account. You’re always welcome to share them with me. Take care and keep safe.
