You'll have to be the primary contact when you want to update your company information (i.e., name and address) in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) for Windows or Mac.
When you're unable to find your company details on the Company menu, you may have experienced minor data issues with your company file. After that, let's go ahead and update QBDT to it's latest release. This way, you'll have the newest features and system fixes.
If you're using QBDT for Windows, you can do a manual update through these steps:
- Close your company files and QuickBooks.
- Open the Windows Start menu.
- Search for QuickBooks Desktop. Right-click the icon and select Run as administrator.
- While on the No Company Open screen, go to the Help menu.
- Select Update QuickBooks Desktop.
- Go to the Options tab. Select Mark All and then select Save.
- Go to the Update Now tab and select the Reset Update checkbox.
- When you're ready, select Get Updates.
After that, close and reopen the QBDT program. Install the updates by selecting Yes. When you're done, restart your computer.
