I am a small business as well, I don't use TIN nor EIN in our company file, and all our credit card transaction are processed by our web-site company. The only sensitive information I use is the bank account number for online bank transaction download.

I really don't see the need that Intuit forces me to use a password.

I have used older QB version before which did not use company file passwords.

Further I am on a secure network. Intuit should allow me to switch this option on or off in the preferences.
