Thanks for joining this thread, speedo.

I'm here to help ensure you're able to transfer your data to QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Upon moving your data, a step will ask you to sign in as the admin of the QBO company. Make sure to select the subscribed account, not the trial one.

You can follow the steps outlined below on how to import your desktop file to QBO:

  1. Log in to QuickBooks Desktop as an admin to the company file you need to import.
  2. Go to the Company menu, then select Export Company File to QuickBooks Online (if you're using Pro or Premier).
  3. On your keyboard, press Ctrl+1 to open the Product Information window. Press Ctrl+B+Q, then select OK (if you're using Enterprise).
  4. On the export window, select Start your export.
  5. Sign in as an admin to your QuickBooks Online company.
  6. Select the Choose online company▼ drop-down, and click the QuickBooks Online company you want to be replaced by your company file.
  7. Click Continue.
  8. Enter “Agree” in the text field, then select Replace.
  9. Select Yes, go ahead and replace the data, then select Replace.

Another way of moving your data is to export list from QBDT, then import them to QBO. Check out these articles to know the list and transaction type you can transfer:
