Let's make sure we'll be able to prevent the error and fix your issue, Putty123.

QuickBooks detects the presence of the following Personally Identifiable Information (PII). That's one of the reasons why you're getting the error. Since QuickBooks Desktop requires passwords for data files to meet certain complexity requirements. You'll want to ensure the protection of your critical data by following the minimum requirements for complex passwords that include the following:

  • At least 7 characters (letters, numbers, or special characters)
  • At least 1 number
  • At least 1 uppercase letter

Also, take note that passwords are case-sensitive, as @KlentB mentioned above on this thread.

Other than that, if you're using QuickBooks Desktop in multi-user mode, ensure that all users are using the supported version of QuickBooks Desktop and have them installed the security update. To know more details on how and when will you set up a complex password, read this article for your guide: Password Security For QuickBooks Desktop.

However, if you've already set up a complex password and you're still getting the same error, I would suggest reaching out to our support team to double-check your account. They have the tools to securely pull up your account in a secure environment.

In addition, you may want to use the Automated Password Reset Tool to help you reset your QuickBooks Admin Password. See this article for more information: Use Automated Password Reset Tool For QuickBooks Desktop.

You can always get back to us if you have any concerns with passwords. We'll always make sure to get you covered.
