I know it can be challenging when you can't reopen a transaction, Starby. I'm here to ensure this gets fixed.

When reopening a closed transaction in QuickBooks Desktop, you'll have to make sure that the Closed status shows. This way, the Mark as Open option will appear at the top.

Here's how to reopen the sales order:

  1. Go to the Customers menu and then select Customer Center.
  2. Locate the customer you created a sales order with.
  3. On the All Transactions drop-down menu, select Sales Orders.
  4. Locate the closed sales order, then double click to open.
  5. Click Mark as Open and then select Save & Close.

To reopen the purchase order, I'd suggest following these steps:

  1. Go to the Vendors menu and then select Vendor Center.
  2. Locate the vendor you created the purchase order with.
  3. On the All Transactions drop-down menu, select Purchase Orders.
  4. Locate the closed purchase order, then double click to open.
  5. Click Mark as Open and then select Save & Close.

Additionally, I've included these articles that'll help you keep track of your sales and expenses transactions in QuickBooks Desktop. This way, you'll be able to focus on the information that matters most to your business:
