Thanks for getting back with the Community about this, K-B. I appreciate you performing MadelynC's recommended troubleshooting steps.

Since you're encountering error 15240, there's a few things you'll want to try. Initially, it's recommended to run QuickBooks as an administrator. This action can be performed by right-clicking the QuickBooks application icon on your computer, then selecting Run as Administrator.

If the error message continues appearing when running QuickBooks as an admin, I'd recommend verifying your system date and time settings.

Here's how:

  1. Click the time display on your computer, then choose Change date and time settings.
  2. Enter your correct date and time.
  3. Hit Apply.
  4. Select OK.

In the event you're still receiving a 15240 error after our above-mentioned troubleshooting, you'll want to continue with the recommended solutions until it's fixed. Your next step will be to add Windows permissions to QuickBooks installation folders.

If there's any additional questions, I'm just a post away. Have a lovely day!
