Thanks for joining in this thread, @JAR2021.

Let me walk you through the steps on how to map your 1099s in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT). This way, you can print or e-file it to the IRS.

Here's how:

  1. Go to Vendors and select 1099 Forms.
  2. Click Print/E-file 1099 Forms and select Yes.
  3. Select Get started for the 1099 form you want to create.
  4. Choose the vendors that need the 1099 form and select Continue.
  5. Verify the vendor information if it is correct. You can also edit any incorrect information by double-clicking on the section that needs updating and click Continue.
  6. Map the vendor payment accounts. Go to the drop-down in the Apply payments to this 1099 box section and select the account you want to link the payment to. Then, select Continue when complete.
  7. Click View Included Payments or View Excluded Payments to see detailed reports and select Continue.
  8. Review the vendors and amounts you're going to report and proceed by clicking Continue.
  9. Choose whether to print 1099s or e-file. If you choose to continue to e-file your 1099s, follow these steps.

Please take note that there are changes to the 1099 forms and boxes in 2021 for the tax year 2020, so choose your forms carefully. You can check with your accountant if you think you might have made other types of payments.

You can also review your payment information for exclusions. For more information on what can be excluded see What payments are excluded from a 1099-NEC and 1099-MISC?

I'm just a reply away if you have other questions with the QBDT Payroll. Just add the details of your concerns in this thread and I'll help you out.
