I'm here to ensure your client can successfully send email using the updated Outlook in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT), Denise2408.
Previously, we have received reports that users can't send emails through our program using Outlook after the update. Fortunately, Windows has released a solution to this problem. The latest Outlook update is now compatible with QBDT. I'll guide you through the update.
Beforehand, ensure you're on the latest version of QBDT so these programs can work together seamlessly. Once done, follow the steps below to update your Office Account.
- Open a Command Prompt (right-click, Run as administrator).
- Type and paste this registry command and press Enter: reg add HKLM\Software\Policies\Microsoft\office\16.0\common\officeupdate /v updatebranch /t REG_SZ /d Current
- Go to File, then Office Account. Once there, click the Update Options, then Update Now.
- Finally, close your Outlook until the channel change is complete.
Moreover, to switch back to the Current Channel Preview later, use the same steps with the registry key in the article.
For more information on these steps, visit this article that contains workarounds if you encounter issues: QuickBooks using Outlook Desktop after updating to Version 2402.
