I have another way to make sure the service date column appears on the printed invoice, jfarbs.
Normally, once the Service date option is turned on on the Account and Settings page, this will show in your invoices when you preview them. You can try creating a dummy invoice using a new template to check if you're still not seeing the option. To do this, follow the steps below:
- Click the Gear icon.
- Select Custom Form Styles.
- Locate the invoice template you're updating.
- Click Edit if you have an existing template ( or you can also select New style to create a new template.)
- Go to the Content tab ( or select the Design tab for a new template)
- Click the middle section of the template (or choose the Change up the template option).
- Make sure the Date is marked in the Columns section.
- Click Done.
However, If it's still not showing, you can also try the following these steps:
- Click the Gear icon.
- Select Custom Form Styles.
- Edit the form in question.
- Click on the Content tab, and then select the section containing the line items.
- Click on Show more activity items on the left side.
- Remove the tick from the Group activity by and Collapse activity row.
- Save the changes and then re-print invoice.
Additionally, learn how to accept electronic payments from invoices or emails. I've added this article for you to be guided: Take and Process Payments In QuickBooks Online.
