The convenience fee is a beta feature that allows QBO to calculate and add the amount automatically. We're unable to continue to roll it out in this format due to requirements from the card brand network. Please know that we're looking for an alternative way to offer this feature ongoing in the future.
In the meantime, you'll want to create a service item for the convenience fee and manually add it as a line item on your customer's invoice as a workaround.
Here's how:
- In QBO, go to the Gear icon at the top right, then select Products and Services.
- Select the New button. And choose Service.
- Enter the name of the service item (Convenience Fee).
- Choose the account used for the convenience fee.
- Click Save and Close.
I can see how having this option would be helpful for you and your business. I highly suggest sending feedback directly to our product developers. They're always looking for ideas to consider on how to improve QuickBooks.
