I have a solution I figured out, as I have the same issue. I'm amazed quickbooks has this issue as old as it is and how popular it is. I put my email address in the email line of the invoice instead of my customer's email. This allows me to create the invoice with the look that is a normal invoice. Then, I have the invoice in my email and can then forward or save and send it from my business email address that should be allowed in quickbooks.
